Nursing Education is moving to a newer paradigm.In Medscape, an article entitled Overhauling Nursing Education: What is missing in Nursing Education?,the author Laura A. Stokowski discusses how it is imperative for us to now change the nature of the nursing education. She discusses how Dr. Belich identifies that today’s nurse needs to be” a more effective player on the healthcare team and navigate healthcare systems and that’s not traditionally taught in a classroom”. This is where Clinical Speciality Nursing has an opportunity to really take over. I see this new paradigm being like a crossword puzzle in which clinical speciality educators focus curriculum instruction on what is most important in today’s current learning for future practice.
